Deck work we do

New deck builds

Designed for your yard, footings to final rail โ€” permitted, inspected, built to code.

Full rebuilds

Old deck torn out and hauled away by our own demo crew, new one built in its place. One crew, start to finish.

Repairs & refacing

New boards and railings on a sound frame โ€” the budget way to get five more good years.

Railings & stairs

Code-height railings, solid stairs, gates โ€” the details inspectors and insurance care about.

Wood or composite?

Pressure-treated wood is the budget workhorse โ€” strong, repairable, and the lowest upfront cost. It wants a seal or stain every couple of years, and it earns it back in price.

Composite (Trex-style) costs more up front โ€” typically 30โ€“50% over wood โ€” but shrugs off NJ winters with almost zero upkeep: no splinters, no staining, color stays put. On a deck you plan to keep 15+ years, it usually wins the long game.

Hardwood is the premium look โ€” beautiful, dense, and worth discussing if you want a deck that turns heads.

Not sure? Text photos of your space and tell us your budget โ€” we'll give you an honest take on which material fits, not an upsell.

How it works

1. Text photos

Send 3โ€“5 photos of your yard or old deck to (201) 245-3443. Ballpark back the same day โ€” free, no site visit needed.

2. Design consult

Bigger builds get a proper design conversation โ€” layout, materials, railings, code requirements.

3. Permits & build

We pull the permits, coordinate inspections, and build. Most decks go up in 1โ€“2 weeks once permits clear.

"We worked with AB6 on an expanded deck project. He acted as the foreman and coordinated everything with the town as well as the masonry and electrical subcontractors, which helped keep the project moving."

Deck questions, straight answers

How much does a deck cost in Bergen County?

Ballpark, not a quote: most pressure-treated decks around 12x16 land in the $8,000โ€“$15,000 range depending on size, height, stairs and railings. Composite typically runs 30โ€“50% more. Your exact number comes free from your photos โ€” text them to (201) 245-3443.

Do I need a permit for a deck in NJ?

Almost always yes โ€” and that's good, it protects your resale and insurance. We handle the permit paperwork and inspection scheduling with your town as part of the job.

Repair or replace โ€” how do I know?

If the frame and footings are sound, new boards and railings can buy years at a fraction of the cost. If posts are rotting or the ledger is pulling off the house, rebuild. Text photos and we'll tell you honestly which one you need โ€” we do both, so there's no incentive to push you either way.

When's the best time to book?

Spring slots go first. In fall and winter, a deposit locks a front-of-line spot on the spring schedule at this year's pricing โ€” smart move if you want to be grilling by Memorial Day.

What about tearing out the old deck?

That's us too โ€” AB6 Demo & Removal is our own crew. Tear-out, haul-away, and rebuild in one job, one contract, one licensed company.

Where we build

All over Bergen County โ€” including Tenafly, Ridgewood, Paramus, Teaneck, Hackensack, Englewood, Fort Lee, Glen Rock, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes and more. See the full list of towns we serve.
